The Summer Psychology Internship

The Application

To apply for the Summer Psychology Internship you apply to the Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP) at Northwestern. The application is accepted on a rolling basis through February 10th, 2025 and includes the following components:

STEP 1: Through the Big Ten Alliance SROP application portal, applicants provide the following information:

  • Undergrad Information (School, Location, Major, Specialization, Credit hours, GPA, and Academic Status 

  • Relevant Completed Courses 

  • Graduate Interests (PhD Interest, Field of Study, Specialization, SROP University Selection) 

  • Three Statements 

    • University Selection Statement  

    • Research Statement 

    • Personal Statement 

  • Two Faculty Recommenders for Letters and Evaluations 

  • Transcripts 

STEP 2: Through this supplemental form, you express interest in Northwestern’s SROP program and in the summer psychology internship program by including Professor Michael Kraus as a listed mentor.

Participants in the summer psychology internship program will fully participate in the Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP) at Northwestern and that includes the stipend ($6,500), travel, on-campus lodging, and programming.
